www.warmemorialsww1.co.uk is the official website of ‘War Memorials WW1.’ It is owned and managed by Caroline Rowland.
The central theme of the website is ‘Remembrance’.  Pages are filled with original research and articles which can be used by students and researchers alike. Please credit the website in your work.

Here you can find out about soldiers, sailors, airmen and nurses who died in the First World War. Discover where the fallen are commemorated on war memorials in the ‘Blackmore Vale’ region,  Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire and further afield in the UK.

The  ‘Parishes’, ‘Regiments’ and ‘Names’ sections provides you with specific information on particular localities and about those commemorated on the war memorials.

Search – A quick search function is always available under the menu on the top left corner of the War Memorials WW1 website. You can search through any or all of the War Memorial WW1 webpages, features, documents, photos and events.

Resources – The Resources section provides access to documents, events, features, photos and publications. The “Resources” link is available at the top of every War Memorials WW1 webpage.

The “Book Club” section provides information on particular books, either to buy or for you to read the reviews there is also a section inviting you to submit your own book reviews.

E-mail subscription service – An E-mail subscription service is offered and information about the service and the online subscription form can be found in the menu on the top left hand corner.

Events – The Events sections offers a quick view of upcoming and recent War Memorials WW1 events. It also allows you to search for and to retrieve more details about individual events. It is accessible from the menu on the top left hand corner.

Photo archive – The Photo archive allows you to search for War Memorials WW1 photos. You can download high resolution versions of many photos by clicking on the “high resolution” icon. You must credit warmemorialsww1.co.uk appropriately when using photos from the website. The Photo archive can be accessed through the Resources section.
